Spot is a four legged Robot with 13 power full motors, 3600 horizontal  view. It can be operated with android table provided along with spot. Spot is small enough with 1100 mm length,500 mm width,840 mm height (standing),191 mm height (sitting) weighing about 32.5kg, speed  1.6m/s. spot can climb a slope of ~30o.It has a built in stereo cameras which provides depth information to produce 3D point clouds. Enabling the robot to map its surrounding and avoid obstacle. These cameras are primarily for the robot for its own navigation but also provide user with live monochrome video feed that can be streamed through the control tablet.

Spot has built in computers fully dedicated to robot locomotion and navigation. To process and analyze data from it’s on board sensors. It has Intel i5® 8th Gen (whiskey lake –u) processor, with 16 GB RAM DDR4 2666MHz,  512 GB SSD storage, OS  Ubuntu Desktop 18.04 LTS 64-bit, security TPM2.0 disk encryption, operating Temp 0 to 500C Which makes it fast enough.

Even after being controlled by the user it can take its own decision to avoid obstacles as the surrounding demands.

Can spot change present and post covid-19 life?

Spot can be used to conduct virtual private interviews with doctors with a tablet connected on it. It can be quipped with robotic arm to deliver medicine to patient. This makes it completely contact less interaction and reduces infection risk. In the coming years spot can replace front line warriors. Because covid-19 is going to be with us for long time.

Spot can be equipped with radiation detectors to detect the radiation level near the nuclear reactors. In natural disasters it can be used for search operations. It can be used to detect water steam leakage in plants with a visual collected by the spot cam.

 

Spot is the requirement of 21st century where things are getting automated regularly. But still there are some jobs with maximum risk done by humans like healthcare workers in pandemics and people at nuclear power plant are always at high risk.

With runtime of 90 min spot can bring significant change in industry, healthcare, security, search operation.

Right now Spot is available only in US for $ 74,500 (56, 35,180.00 INR).This version is not for kids it only for those who can operate it responsibly.

Aim:-  To determine the value of Stefan's constant. Apparatus:-  Black body radiation unit, Ammeter, Voltmeter, connecting wires, DC source.
